In the 1990s I did over sixty private parties in a single December, almost all of it across the Bay Area, mostly Silicon Valley and the Peninsula. Wealthy clients in the hills of Los Gatos and Santa Cruz, the hills of Oakland, the steep hills of San Francisco. Parties at Kohl Mansion, parties at Stanford. My record is still over a dozen shows in one day: a Breakfast with Santa in downtown San Jose at 6am, and strolling magic in the Saratoga hills past midnight.
One of those Decembers I did a holiday party for the researchers at Stanford Research Institute (now SRI International), the group known for testing Uri Geller, and I had a blast fooling them completely. Another year, at a special event in a park, I taught Steve Jobs and a group of Apple managers how to juggle.
